Perrysburg
is located along in Wood County in northwest Ohio. As of the 2010 census, the population was 20,623. Perrysburg is a suburb of the city of Toledo. At the beginning of the War of 1812, General William Henry Harrison ordered the construction of Fort Meigs in northwest Ohio in the area that is now Perrysburg. This fort was built on a bluff overlooking the Maumee River and two important battles of the War of 1812 were fought there. Later, settlers returned to the area and the town of Perrysburg was platted in 1816. It became a center for shipbuilding and commerce on Lake Erie. Today, Fort Meigs has been reconstructed on its' original site, and a museum helps bring history alive with interactive displays and several reenactments and special events. Perrysburg is also home to many historic homes from the 1800s and eight city parks that offer outdoor recreational opportunities. People from all over northwest Ohio visit Perrysburg for Levis Commons, a premier, open-air master planned community and shopping center. Levis Commons includes fine dining, movie theaters, entertainment, shops and boutiques, apartments, townhouses and homes. Another unique attraction in Perrysburg Township is the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo. The mosque, built over the period 1980-1983, is the first mosque in North America to use classic Islamic architecture.

Northwest Ohio's climate is humid continental according to the Koppen Climate Classification. The region experiences four distinct seasons with warm, humid summers and cold winters. Snowfall varies greatly year to year. Precipitation in the way of rain is moderate throughout the year. Thunderstorms and tornadoes are another possibility, especially in spring and summer. Spring weather in Northwest Ohio is very unpredictable and often cool and rainy. Autumn is the sunniest time of year with cool to mild temperatures, which results in beautiful fall foliage. A jacket is recommended for fall evenings that can dip into the upper 30s to low 40s. It's best to always check ahead when traveling to Ohio to make sure you have the proper attire as the weather is changeable.
