Senecaville is a small village located in Guernsey County in southeast Ohio. The population is approximately 450 residents. Just two miles west of the village is Senecaville Lake, which is the third largest lake in Ohio. The lake is more often referred to as Seneca Lake. The lake is in the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy Districts chain of lakes, and offers boating, swimming, and fishing. Fishing is popular at Seneca Lake and contains largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, bullhead, channel catfish, walleye, mukellunge and white bass. There is a full-service marina at the lake and a restaurant that is open year round. Picnicking and camping are also available at Seneca Lake. The village of Senecaville is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains near the town of Cambridge. This area is sometimes called the "Crossroads of America," because it's within one day's travel of eleven major U.S. cities. Other attractions in the area include the scenic and historic National Road, and the Dickens Victorian Village, located in the city of Cambridge.

Southeast Ohio has a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons. This region is located in the unglaciated Allegheny Plateau, surrounded by hills and river valley. Summers in southeast Ohio are warm and humid. Temperatures are slightly warmer in this region than in northern Ohio, although milder in the eastern highlands. The growing season is also longer here than the rest of the state. More than half of the precipitation occurs from May to October. Winters in southern Ohio are cool to cold. Snowfall varies greatly year to year. Blizzards, ice storms and freezing rain are all a possibility. Spring has a mix of weather, from sunny and mild to cool and rainy. Autumn is the sunniest season of the year with mild days and crisp, cool evenings.
